What characterizes Spain is More, how do we stand out from the crowd, and why do so many people choose to travel with us? Big questions – here are our answers.
You should choose us because we focus exclusively on travel in Spain – and especially Northern Spain, a region we know inside out. Most of our team members are from Spain, and the rest have lived for many years in Northern Spain and know the culture, regions and local customs in depth.
That is the knowledge we want to share with you. We want you to already know how things work before your trip even begins – how the locals do it. How do you order pinchos in the Basque Country, how do you pour sidra in Asturias, and when do you do what?
“We don’t just give you every option – we help you choose the best ones.”
In other words, our philosophy is simple: we want to give you the kind of experiences that mean you don’t just visit Spain and Northern Spain. You truly experience it.
How do we pass this knowledge on to you? Since Spain is More was founded in 2009, we have shared it through a comprehensive travel guide that all our guests receive before departure. A guide that is carefully tailored to your specific trip.
It does not describe endless facts about churches, top-10 lists or the full history of the Camino. That information can be found in many other places. Instead, it goes much deeper than traditional guidebooks and gives you recommendations and inspiration.
It helps you decide which of the many churches you should visit, which beach among hundreds is the most beautiful or best suited to your plans – for example beginner surfing, nature or a family-friendly beach.
Which of the many beautiful coastal towns and mountain villages should you visit, and why? Where do the locals eat, and what do they eat? Which hike is truly the most beautiful in the mountains or along the coast? Hundreds of recommendations for the exact areas you will visit.
The recommendations are based on our own experiences. We live here, we work here and we use these places ourselves. That is why we don’t simply recommend what you find in guidebooks – we recommend what we would choose ourselves when we travel in the region.
At the same time, the guide is so specific to your trip that it includes your personal practical information about bus departures, car rental, hotels, flights, reservations and anything else included in your journey. In short: how to get from A to B, and what you can experience along the way.
Over the years Spain is More has received great feedback for our travel guides. We constantly update and improve them, and we know that this attention to detail is appreciated by our guests. Many guests later tell us that the guide helped them discover places and experiences they would otherwise never have found.
Digital or printed travel guide
The travel guide for your trip to Northern Spain can be accessed digitally. This access is free for all travellers with Spain is More.
You can also choose to purchase a printed version of the guide itself. Any tickets (for example flights, buses or trains) will however be accessed online. The printed version of the travel guide can be added when you book your trip with Spain is More.
The digital travel material offers a number of advantages. For example, you can find route maps – when walking or cycling the Camino or hiking in the mountains – where you can see your own location. There are also carefully selected links. You can easily locate your hotel on online maps as well as meeting points for any activities during your trip.
At the same time, it allows us to quickly upload any changes to your trip at short notice, ensuring that you always have the most up-to-date information.
The printed guidebook of course also has its analogue advantages, which can easily be combined with the digital guide. If you prefer a trip without constantly using your phone – a digital detox journey, as we call it – purchasing the printed guide is a great option.
The text is the same as the one you receive online. It is also always possible to print the pages you need yourself.
