I have been meaning to write to you to tell you about your picks and selections and help to us during our pilgrimage in Spain.
First let me tell you that everything went smoothly and we never had any problems with any of your suppliers or the plans that you had made for us. Everything was wonderful. We enjoyed getting to do our walk and seeing what we believe was the real Spain away from the big cities. We learned much and my Spanish is much improved. I did not realize there are so many mountains in northern Spain.
I would be happy to recommend you and your company to anyone I meet that would be thinking about doing the camino.
For all of the accommodations that you set up for us, we could not have asked for more. We especially enjoyed the accommodations in Santiago (where we got the only room on the 5th floor overlooking the cathedral) and Villafranca and Palas de Rei. While the hotel at Palas de Rei was fine, the couple that run the hotel were especially accommodating, helpful and kind. The man that runs Villafranca was also very helpful and kind and we wish the restaurant would have been open on the Monday.
On the tour out to Finnistierre, it was raining that day and no one else had signed up but the guide, showed up on time and took Janna and I out to Finnistierre by ourselves in a car. It was a delightful tour and Manuel is to be commended for following up and taking us by ourselves, recommending individual places to eat, and generally making it a wonderful day. I just wanted to make sure that you knew he went out of his way to give us a good day.
Thanks again for all of you and your staff’s help and although I said when I was done that I would not do it again, somewhere in the back of my mind I am thinking that the Portugese route looks pretty good for some day in the future.
Thanks again and if you come to Texas, let us know and we will show you around.
